Yellow Finger Nails

ok so theyre not like the yellow banana, but no matter how much I clean my nails, buff and trim, use polish on them they just always look yellow and dirty. Sometimes I dye my hair with gloves on so I understand there theyre dirty, simply wear life, but is there a way to get rid of the dirty yellow appearance they have?
