Untreated Asthma

Untreated AsthmaWhat will happen if the asthma is not treated?

I get chest tightness and difficulty breathing lately and I think it might be asthma .. But I do not want to go to the doctor because it is not so bad.
If it is asthma, and I leave treatment, what is the worst thing that can happen?

Asthma untreated scars your lungs even further, the best thing would probably take an inhaler drug ... not a rescue inhaler, but something that will heal your lungs ... but again they could perscribe you a rescue inhaler ... prevention is better than dead ... I always said, haha.

The worst that can happen is having an asthma attack to run, and if not treated quickly, a collapsed lung. Do not try to scare you, but they are the worst scenarios. Since you do not want to go to the doctor, my advice for home treatment could be primatene (sp?) Inhalers sold in pharmacies. The last time I bought one was there a year or two, and it was about $ 8. They work very well. Singulair, a med you can get the doc is really good too w / difficulty breathing, is, if you decide to go. ..... At-home treatments, like putting a bowl of hot water with a scoop of Vicks in it can help some of eleviate tightness and help open airways. breathing it with a towel over your head. Basically all steam is great. .. I also heard of boiling a cup until all the onion and boiling water, inhaling steam in. really helps.

Finally, I hope you do have checked.

It could be worse. I left my asthma untreated for some time because I was not sure that was what it was. I can not tell you how you feel better when it is controlled. I had trouble sleeping, running, etc. and now I'm fine. I suggest going to the doctors. It will not hurt.

You can develop severe respiratory distress and may die improbable.
More lkely that your symptoms will limit your ability to exercise and participate in daily activities. Consult your doctor and get an inhaler to try. It is not that big of a deal unless you ignore it.

you can die.

I had asthma when I was younger, he went.

it will worsen the outcome varies with each person, but rather take it and not leave it worse
