Childhood Obesity is a growing problem around the world. It is considered the most common problem encountered by food western countries today. It has become an epidemic in the United Kingdom as almost 2 million children are overweight or very nearly so. Medical experts agree that the health consequences of obesity can be devastating and the financial implications can be disturbing.

Children and infants are not immune from this global health threat. People gain weight and become bigger every day. Some people have suggested that this was partly due to the increased consumption of refined foods and more processed and the amount of preservatives and other ingredients contained within. Some have argued that a result of junk food sold in our stores side streets. However, there is a general consensus that it is done when people take more calories than their body can handle. The questions to ask and answer in this article are: what are the causes, symptoms and prevention of childhood obesity?

Poor food choices are identified as a major cause of childhood obesity. Families are more focused on the speed at which a meal can be done rather than to prepare balanced meals nutritionally. They are now easier and faster to get off to a fast food restaurant to buy food than to go home and cook. This convenience is one of the main sources of obesity in children.

The symptoms of childhood obesity are enormous. Very overweight children may not breathing deeply and quickly enough, resulting in low blood oxygen levels and high blood level of carbon dioxide. Some people with this disease often stop breathing for a short time during sleep and this put a strain on the heart, which can lead to symptoms of heart disease, such as leg swelling and other symptoms.

Prevention and early detection is highly recommended. Physical activity or exercise is widely recognized as an important element in the treatment and prevention of obesity in children. This course requires a change in lifestyle and eating habits reasonable couple, with power adjustments. Even with a drug that treats obesity, it should not be regarded as a remedy automatic weight loss without physical activity. For all of these problems of obesity, it is possible to reduce the weight by surgery. However, surgery should be postponed until you know what are the causes of obesity in children.

While childhood obesity has become a pandemic, but the questions is who is to blame for this growing issue? Parents, school, technology, fast food shops? Maybe they all play a role and can also play a role in transforming the situation around.
