I'm looking to stop smoking online support groups? Suggestions? I stopped smoking two weeks ago and I look for support groups to help me successfully stop smoking for good.
This is not just nicotine. It is also the 50 + other chemicals in their cigarettes. So the main problem is habit.
We have been accustomed to the sensations of the body that we translate as "my body needs something, we tried to respond with a cigarette.
When we try to stop smoking, we still get those "my body needs something 'sensations, and we still think that we want a cigarette. We must train our bodies to be more selective. When we feel we need something, we must work to ensure that it is that we really need.
A glass of water is an excellent substitute if nothing else comes to mind, as it helps with the clearance of toxic substances in our body. Another good alternative is a bag of salted peanuts, used in combination with water.
Another thing to do is find an activity that occupies the mind or body. Go to the pool - no one wants to smoke when they swim. Slowly, as your body adapts and translates the 'want something' feelings into something other than cigarettes, then the feelings begin to go away. We know this is not a cigarette that the body really needs, because when we had one we still feel, and want another!

Way to go. You can do it. One day at a time and it takes 21 days to form a routine. I quit Cold Turkey New Year 1999 and have not looked back since.
Keep up the good work and believe in yourself.
Cold turkey is the way to go.

They have different products and support groups for that.
Good luck! It will not be easy, but stick with it! You can do it!
