Smoking Cessation

Why do they want to spend millions on stopping smoking when they want to expand SCHIP in the same time supported by the taxation of cigarettes? Is not cons-productive? I am a Democrat, but that's just no sense to me at all. I say choose one or the other.

Why not choose both? I do not understand what you are complaining. Smoking cessation is favored by higher taxes on cigarettes. This is entirely consistent. If SCHIP is partially funded by taxes on cigarettes and tobacco cessation programs of work, then they can find alternative methods of financing. I am not an anti-tobacco lawyer, but it is undeniable that common sense smoking-related diseases cause more costs in our health care system.

There is nothing Rescue (stimulus) bill makes no sense. They say we need money into the economy quickly, but only 3% of the money will be spent over the next 12 months. They Like transportation and infrastructure bill that will create jobs, but only 3% will go to construction projects.
Only bills that real objective is to provide the means for the Obama administration can change the government and the economy to the socialist goals such as universal health care can become reality.
Obama is not changing the way Washington works, there is more pork in this bill before it.

Must provide money to pharmaceutical companies that manufacture products for quitting smoking. Just follow the money!

I wish everyone would go online and look stimulus HR1) and HR2 (SCHIP renewal) - all this is nothing more than tax and spend!
