Post Gastric Bypass What can I do to post-gastric bypass arthritis? I had gastric bypass 3 years ago and has recently been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in both shoulders. I can not take NSAIDs for the course focus on the lining of the stomach and can not always Ultracet pain. I fear that I will soon discover that I have arthritis in the joints and other (have not had X-rays done) and would really like to continue to work as I do now! Suggestions?? Check with your doctor, but the BEST thing (s) for arthritis are Glucosamine and Chondroitin. I had two osteo and rheumatoid arthritis for years and nothing worked until I am on the gems !!!!!! Make sure you get both glucosamine and chondroitin and MSM is even better. You can buy these groceries, health food stores, etc. cheapest place I found is WalMart. They can be found under different brands, namely: Osteo BIFLEX, etc. Make sure you get a standardized mixture of two supplements. They're kind of expensive, but the difference it will make in your quality of life is worth it ...... I even put my old dogs on him, and in turn the puppies! After a few weeks, you'll dance to the trash to throw your pain medication! There is no medicine for arthritis! See a doctor for arthritis. He may treat you with medicines or injections that will not upset your stomach. Otherwise, it can give you medication to take with medicines that bother your stomach. Posted on March 1, 2010.
