Can you help me with this question about prostate cancer and pomegranate juice? I have a strong family history of prostate cancer (father and older brother). I am now over 65 years and my PSA tests have remained at normal levels, I have this test and a DRE by a urologist every year. I heard recently that pomegranate juice may be useful in the treatment of prostate cancer in men whose cancer is still progressing wiith despite radiation therapy and / or hormonal therapy. What I want to know is this:
(1) Is there any evidence that could help prevent or delay the onset of the disease? and
(2) Is there any indication that it could interfere with early diagnosis by tilting the PSA test?
Why not ask your doctor? Most men (boys) who answer questions here are too young to think of prostate cancer! They are more obsessed with sex!
I think that this theory of pomegranate juice is relatively new, and no real study has been conducted. Your best bet is to continue to have PSA tests regularly. You are at an age where it is very important to do so.
I have no idea whether the juice that interferes with the PSA test or not. Again, ask your doctor. And just because there was a lot of prostate cancer in your family, does not guarantee that you will get. Just keep having these tests! If you need to get the treatment is much better these days that years ago.
Good luck!
A definition of pomegranae juice, but there is no mention of curing cancer.
Pomegranate Fruit
Exotic fruits red pomenengrante is another exemplification of how fruits and vegetables are sources of incredible wealth of healing components, including antioxidants and pigments. The pomegranate fruit juice is exceptionally rich in polyphenol compounds that act as powerful antioxidants in the body that inherently target arteries. Recent studies with juice pomegranante constitueunts have shown that it offers has helped to prevent plaque formation and artierial significantly reduces the oxidation of LDL cholesterol. The latter effect was attributed to the observation that pomegranante increased levels of paraoxonase, an enzyme that has been found to break the oxidized cholesterol.
Nope, a recent study has not demonstrated that it did no good at all for any medical illness
I do not come in pomegranate juice in my research, but the seeds in the grenade might contain B17, which would help enormously.
Please spend some time studying this site to answer many questions,
This article is worth reading for anyone who needs to be disabused of the belief that orthodox treatments against cancer with chemo-toxic "therapy" does the job. Since when is the destruction of his immune system with chemotherapy and radiation therapy toxic? And how does cutting a part of the body to solve a whole body problem? Something to think about reading the article.
The figures for survival at 5 years (for the orthodox treatment), not to be confused with the successful treatment of the disease, for the major cancers are:
stomach - 5 percent
trachea, bronchus and lung -5 percent
-50 Percent of breast
esophagus -5 percent
large intestine - 22 percent
pancreas - 4 percent
liver - 2 percent
According to the government's own figures, about two percent of chemotherapy recipients are still alive after 5 years the term "living" is used here in its literal sense: ie not yet clinically dead.
