Peak Flow Normal Values

Peak Flow Normal ValuesIs it associated with asthma or something else?

for 4 days ive had some trouble breathing, I feel that I cannot catch my breath at times when I take deep breaths or deep breathing tightness little feeling that I just cannot catch my breath .. no wheezing involved. . Ive been checking my peak flow and that between 450-500 when I was in the emergency room and got 450 dr said it was normal thats hasn't been amended its consitantly 450-500 before it started I neither had a severe allergy attack or a cold I had a runny nose stuffy nose sneezing ear pressure headache and then after everything collapsed thats when it started Now I have the headache, breathing problems with drunkenness and ear pressure both for two nights, I tried my rescue inhaler and na seem to make a difference and I just tried again when I woke up and didn't make a huge difference, I do not feel all the time but here's a good majority of the day after taking the inhaler I checked my peak flow was always the same value.

You could actually be having an early pneumonia. The symptoms you describe may be an acute asthma or bronchitis.

Since the age of 6 years, I suffered from undiagnosed asthma. The reason is that asthma may be different in different people. It was not until I was pregnant with my second child and has suffered two - count them two - episodes of pneumonia eventually they gave me a diagnosis of asthma. Both times, my peak flow is between 400-450. In fact, they wanted me to go to the hospital, but it was probably because I was pregnant as well.

I am now on medication against asthma by day and it helped a lot, but still need a fast acting inhaler.

You may need to take a steroid like prednisone to help open the bronchial tubes. The only way to really know is with a chest radiograph.

Sounds like anxiety reaction.

While the answer to a question, but perhaps you were cleaning shortly before the attacks, or doing laundry?

Chemical exposure can have a significant impact on the respiratory system.

My thought is that it may be more congestion in the chest. I would like to try some musenex to help empty so that you do end up haveing an asthma attach and gettinng bronchitis.

the symptoms you describe could very well be anxiety. My brother was rushed to the emergency more than once, thinking he had an asthma attack (he had bad childhood asthma) and it was anxiety.

The pressure in your ears could also be related to anxiety. My aunt said the first sign of her anxiety attacks were severe ringing in his ears.

When you go to the dr. seek a second opinion. In addition, mention the possibility of anxiety. He may prescribe a low dose for you to take Xanex until your anxiety cleared. I suffered from anxiety. I do not take Xanex now, but I have a few months. Then I found some sources of my anxiety, eliminate and get rid of my anxiety. Believe it or not, one of my biggest factors in my mess, Unorganized house! Also, people say to try to relax when an attack, but for me, stand up and be helped more active. Get up, jumping jacks, take a walk. Burning off excess energy will also help you sleep at night, when the anxiety seems to strike most.
More importantly, have someone you can call and wake up 24 / 7 because anxiety can strike in the middle of the night and having someone to talk to you can be very helpful. Even having someone read to you (anything) can help you.

Good luck and I hope you can find the source of whatever the source of your discomfort.

Even with a peak flow of 450, you can have a shift in the airways. This infection may have been caused by a cold or even the aftermath of an allergy which has not been properly treated. I doubt that asthma related since you have a good airflow in your bronchial region.
