What is the FiO2 delivered in the following areas? Nasal Prongs
Hudson mask
Venturi (What are the percentages adjustable)
Partial NRBM
NRBM (non-rebreather mask)
(Then Invasive Types of adjustable parameters so do not worry about these guys ...)
Thank you in advance is - again pls I want to stress - if you do not know the above - post just need to say the search / etc ...
:)
- The nasal prongs are estimated at delivery, a maximum of 0.40 or 40% FiO2. They are not appropriate for patients in respiratory distress.
- Venturi masks the color of the unit corresponds to the concentration of oxygen delivered: 24% blue, 28% white, 31% orange, 35% yellow, 40% red, 60% green.
- Non-rebreather mask provides a single FiO2: 1.00 (100%)
- Hudson Tracheostomy Mask (proper name "Tracheotomy Mask) is the flow of oxygen through the nebulizer very small, so a special configuration is required to administer higher FiO2 to .50. Remember that rainout constant humidity in the tubes can change FiO2.
- Aerosol mask works exactly the same tracheostomy
Mask.
Wish you the best of luck!
Hi Peter!
I'll try to answer your questions.
1. The nasal prongs: Can not measure when we use this FIO2, thats why we only talk about flow in liters per minute. But we deliver up to 30%.
2. Hudson mask: Again it is a variable return mask. This can provide up to 40% FIO2.
mask 3.Venturi: Can provide 30% to 40% and 50% according to rates of 10, 12 15 liters per minute, respectively.
4.NRBM can supply 80% when both valves are open, 90% when one of them is open to 100% when both valves are closed.
I hope you are satisfied with this answer!
