Obesity And Anaesthesia

Obesity And AnaesthesiaI have a surgery in 4.5 hours. Worried about the anesthesia?

I heard that anesthesia and complications of obesity =. I'm 5'5 "and I weigh 214 pounds. I am a little worried. I'm not sure why, because I do not think I'm great, but I could always wrong. I did my gall bladder and all week I just had this feeling bad. I'm really scared.

Well, it's later than 4.5 hours, so if you read this, everything went well.

Yes, obesity complicating anesthesia for a number of reasons, mostly related to airway management and ventilation. You, however, are minuscule compared to what we are accustomed.

Do not sleep has nothing to do with the anesthesia. When patients tell me that, I tell them to go ahead and start without me. Anesthesia is not sleep - it is a drug induced state of unconsciousness. If a surgeon tried to take your gallbladder when you were asleep, woke up quickly and you have something to say about it!

Hope your recovery goes well!

Do not sleep no real complications. If you are worried that the surgeon or anesthesiologist know. The anesthesiologist is trained to adjust the anesthesia for the weight and metabolism, and pass surgery monitoring your vital signs and can adjust medication as needed.

One of the great things they worry about obesity is diabetes, like diabetics have problems with blood circulation and coagulation.

Gall bladder removal is a relatively minor these days, and it is usually done as laproscopy - they did not even open you all the way up, they just make small incisions and drag surgical instruments to do their job. This minimizes the risk and accelerates healing, and it is usually much less uncomfortable afterwards.

If you are worried, talk to your doctor first. This is a very common procedure, and it has probably done hundreds of them, if not several times that. I'm sure he can reassure you.

My mother had her gallbladder removed and its wen't surgery according to plan .. Kinda they left one of gallstones in some way and he slid down further and stopped something, but my mother had a shit of a doctor.

But when I was 11 I had surgery on my mouth to remove a few crowded teeth, adult teeth when it is still in my gum .. Well I will not bore you with the details, but.

I had to go under general anesthesia, and I only weighed about 61 pounds at the time.

When I went under, I woke up at about three hours later and had a problem with my heart. Apparently, the anesthesia triggered something and now I've become a heart disease called PAT

But perhaps it was an allergic reaction, or I just was not lucky. This probably will not happen to you if.

Stay strong and just keep thinking positive and believe that it will be soon. Hope the process goes much hun.

Take care of yourself plenty of rest after xx.

When you go in, tell them exactly what you say here.
They can help alleviate your fears.

I had my emergency appendectomy
basis, a few years ago. I'm overweight, too, and one inch shorter. I had no problems at all, absolutely no
and I felt SOOO much better, I went home immediately.
I closed my eyes, opened them and it was over.

They made an assessment on you? I know that the gallbladder
process is a little more time to recover, I think,
appendix, but they have made great progress these.

May God bless you.

It is ok. I have many surgeries in the past. Have faith in God. I will pray for you.
