Lars RichardsonNBA - Nuggets and "Celtics winning streak ended Friday night
The only two NBA teams that had yet to overcome this season, Denver Nuggets and Boston Celtics, had spoiled their perfect record this Friday. The Phoenix Suns, led by a strong and confident Jason Richardson, came to Boston with a great offensive plan aggressive. Richardson opened the scoreboard with a three-point shooting clean, and from that moment, he and his team were essentially irreversible. The figures speak for only 28 years of shooting guard for the Suns. He scored 14 points in the first quarter alone. The man was on fire. He even came in the fourth quarter with a couple more surprises in his bag of tricks, scoring the first 8 points for the Suns, while nearly powerless, the Boston Celtics watched in disbelief as 4 minutes passed by clock without making a single blow. The first quarter ended with a lead of 29-27 to the Phoenix Suns. In the second quarter, the Suns began to exert even greater pressure on the defense of Phoenix, with rapidly from a constant presence and regular painting. At one point the Celtics are responsible for 11 points. Then Rondo and Garnett began to adopt a more aggressive attacking style and coordinated close the margin to 57-51 at the end of the first half. Kevin Garnett had a season high 26 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and on the game. And while Rondo was solved with good numbers as well, 14 points with 11 trays, it was not sufficient to fulfill its goal of having a 7-0 record for the second time in three years. It certainly was not the best night for Rasheed Wallace, who could not hit one of his six attempts from the perimeter by 3 points, 5 of which were shot in the fourth quarter. Last quarter, it was evident that there were very few the Celtics could do to save the game. Richardson came back to finish the game with a solid 110-103 win for the Phoenix Suns. He had spectacular numbers, 34 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists, especially when you consider he had gone aimlessly in his previous match. The Denver Nuggets have experienced a similar fate when they took their first defeat of the season with the Miami Heat, a team that they had not lost since Dec. 17 2004. number of Denver are not even close to those they had been to highlight during the season. Carmello Anthony is a good game, scoring 30 pts and 8 rebounds for the Nuggets. But very little came from the rest of the team. Rear Arron Afflalo came as a reserve added 11 points for Denver, but the rest of the players' numbers were well below average. Despite the fact that the first quarter ended with a slight advantage to Miami 23-21, by the things of the second quarter was even uglier for Denver. Kenyon Martin had to leave the game with an injury that could put him on the courts for a week or two. And it seemed that the boys in the Mile High City could not get their game back together afterwards. We must also consider that the Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade, had a slow start. He missed the first five shots he attempted, and finally got one in with 1:34 until the end of the period of the first half. And it does not seem to change much. Miami has just appeared unstoppable that night, scoring 17 of the last of the first half of 22 points. The half-time, Denver fell 50-38, a difference of 12 points he was unable to fill in the second half. In the fourth quarter, Denver made his most explosive offensive attack of the game, closing the gap to 93-82 with 3:47 to play. But not much left to do. Miami kept the ball and played a brilliant curator and the last two minutes to seal the victory. The first defeat of the season did not change the overall game of the Celtics who, as of Monday evening, still hold a solid 7-1 record. On the other hand, George Karl is looking for new tactics to bring a game-team match, after losing two games.
