Knee Replacement Recovery

Knee Replacement RecoveryI need a physiotherapist to answer the question about my knee healing?

My knee bends only 65 degrees.Im make vigorous therapy three times a week with a PT, and 4 times a week own.My my therapist says I can get up to 92 degrees in a month. Is this realistic? And if so, what will happen to my knee after stopping treatment? Is my knee back to 65 degrees? I had a terrible scar tissue.Your help would be greatly appreciated,

talk to the doctor who performed the surgery. Most people are closer than 90 in a relatively short time with minimal treatment.

My father had a knee replacement a yeah and a half.
Told him he would be back at work in two weeks. He eventually returned in six months because of his knee can not bend as much as it should.

From what I lived with my father, I suggest you do what you think is the best. The therapist is not in your body for all, "he said, you can get up to 92 degrees, maybe you are the body says to wait and take it easy.
This happen to my father. The therapist has a schedule that seems to fit the pace of my recovery dads. It took a year to get the functions of his knee. After a year, they told him he was a leader of business which are not meaningful because it was supposed to be at work in two weeks and the therapist goes too fast.

Overall, it's your body. I suggest you do your own exercises and do not listen to the therapist. 65-92 seems to be a long shot and sounds like it may cause pain. What you do not want to do that to a new knee.
exercise as you see fit. Turn a shell, when you feel you can, and make your own schedule.

My first question is when was your surgery? Most people are at 90 degrees in a week or two of surgery. However, there are some people who do not achieve this. If you are not 90 degrees on your own by 3-4 weeks, I definetely with the surgeon ... because once you click on eight weeks, its hard to get anything thereafter.

Yes, if you stop. you lose motion. You will need to continue your range of motion exercises for at least a year (although no doubt you'll be able to reduce the frequency at that time).

You must be strong autonomy of movement (heel slides and quads together) at least 3 times a day. Our body loses the effects of stretching after about two hours and, therefore, should stretch regularly. Of course, discuss with your PT first.

I have seen several patients who were missing in the amplitude of the movement until the third or fourth week ended up doing fine and, sometimes, get 115 (minimum of movement). However, if you're not at least 90 to week 3 or 4, definetely return to the surgeon ... scar tissue may be the problem.

... For info on the post above ... I've never seen someone do return to work in 2 tweeks ... one that says that someone who is completely irrational if he had not a minimally invasive, and had a desk job. The vast majority of people need eight weeks to return to work if they have a sedentary job and three months if they are fairly active at work.
