Hot Flashes Treatment

Hot Flashes TreatmentDoes anyone know a non-prescription treatment for hot flashes?

I had surgery last January in which one of my ovaries have been removed and now, 35 years, I am in early menopause. Hot flashes are absolutely drives me crazy, but I do not have to take another pill because I already have a lot of medication and my prescription drug coverage fell off when my husband made foot. Basically I'm looking for a cheap, counter remedy or herbal, at least take the edge off the hot flashes. Suggestions?

Hello to you,

I researched this subject for my mother and found a supplement called Solutions menopause seems to really help. It contains all the traditional ingredients made from plants such as black cohosh / Trastree Berry / Wild Yam / Valerian Root / Dong Quai root, and licorice, but it also contains vitamin B-12 and some calcium citrate, But the ingredient that is truly unique is 8mg of IGF. (Insulin Like Growth Factors) It balances hormonal levels in addressing the adrenal gland, which controls the hormones. It is available in most health food stores and their website is

This is a sub lingual and my mother said she began to feel almost immediately. She loves him.
Some additional benefits of IGF are added energy / endurance increased / raised Libido muscle gain / loss and fat. It also helps to increase bone density and prevent osteoporosis.

They have a store locator number phone you can call ........ 1800-895-4415 Flag

I found acupuncture very effective in reducing the intensity and frequency of hot flashes. If you have access to a qualified acupuncturist who works with health problems of women. check this out.

Here are some herbs that are also very effective if taken for another month:

Dong Quai
Licorice root
Motherwort - 15 to 25 drops of tincture from January to May X per day
Black Cohosh - 10 to 15 drops 1-2 X daily

Do not make the last two if you are pregnant.

A combination of Mexican Wild Yam, and Black cohosh has been found extremely useful. Mexican Wild Yam is the richest in phytoestrogens and the available studies suggest that it is as effective as prescription drugs.
The two Mexican Wild Yam and Black Cohosh are available at Whole Foods Market.

Black cohosh. Its a herbal supplement, you can buy in any pharmacy or Walmart or GNC. My mother uses it. You should try it. It can in fact with all the symptoms of menopause. Not only hot flashes.
