Hip Replacement Alternatives

one and I'm scared as hell !!!.... I live alone and have no help from others ..... so I'm looking for some sort of alternative ..... HELP!

Yes, there is an alternative to hip replacement. This is called hip resurfacing. The device has recently been approved for use in the United States by the FDA. It has been used overseas for years. The difference between the hip and hip resurfacing is that instead of cutting the head of the femur (the top of your thigh where the ball is on) and its replacement by a metal ball or on a ceramic rod that is inserted into the thigh bone, resurfacing involves shaping of the femoral head and cover it with metal lid of a round. Both procedures involve the insertion of a metal cup and the acetabular line (the pool).

Do not fear the resumption of the procedure is. Many surgeons do not send patients directly to hospital if there may be a problem to do so or if they have poor social support system. Instead, they can spend a week or two in a rehabilitation center.
I had both hips replaced and found that I learned to do many things for me before I left the hospital, like climbing stairs, how to solve a simple meal, how to dress, undress , and I swim. It is not impossible to agree only if there are people who will watch over you when you go home and run errands and give you tours if you need it. So when you go directly home from the hospital, you can (like me) have a few weeks of visiting nurse and physical therapist visits. Mine came 2-3 times a week for two weeks. After that I went to outpatient PT. I was able to drive in Week 5. Make sure to inform your doctor about your fears and concerns. If there is absolutely no one could even stop in daily and give you a hand, then you might be a candidate for a stay in a rehabilitation center before returning home.

Unfortunately, if the hip is bad enough to warrant a hip replacement, there is not any good, reliable and non-surgical cure for the moment. Be assured that the hip surgery really does work and I consider it a miracle in how it relieves pain and restores function in people who are on their way to becoming a wheelchair. My father had hip - both hips two years apart.
Although it is hard at first, it is so much better.
It was about 7 years since the second and it is mobile and feel good.

I have never personally that I am 17. My grandmother was the other two on the same hip! The first time was some 13 years ago and had to be in a wheelchair. This time was different. It was this year in April and it is now August and she returned to work in June She recovered very well. It has not been much help. She could not walk down stairs but it has recovered a lot faster than we expected. I said so! She has not taken his medication for pain after b / c it was not so bad. Good luck!

My husband had both hips replaced at different times, you'll need help to recover, there is no way to do it yourself, maybe you have a friend or hospital you have in up with care after the CNA or something ...
