What has been your experience of gastric bypass before and after? Before going into surgery, that has been done in the hospital and then the pain and things.
Oh where to start? a site good for reading newspapers and all the rest (I have one there too) is www.obesityhelp.com. I was 19 when I got mine done.
Make sure you know your doctor well, and to approve his bedside manner. Some people have absolutely no problem with the surgery. This was not the case for me, but I'm glad I did. I had several hernias, I also had my gallbladder removed. I also received a severe anemia, because after the intervention of your body will not absorb iron, vitamin B12, calcium, or as before.
Before surgery, I had to get an eval pysch., There is lot of blood, electrocardiogram, follow a nutrition course and obtain approval of insurance, according to the company can be a pain. Kaiser and Pacfic care are pain in the buttocks. Blue Shield, Aetna and Blue Cross are supposed to be the best. The day before surgery I could not eat anything. I was starving =). The day of surgery I was so nervous I threw up bile in the stomach. They gave me a relaxation agent, which does not work and my wheels off. I remember panicking and saying that I did not do ...
I awoke in the recovery room after about four hours. I had the procedure done so laproscopically was in hospital for about three days. The pain was terrible, I will not lie. It goes with the time though. I lost 20 pounds in my first week. It took me about six months to handle and learn a lot to eat and eat. For the first month I almost vomited everything I ate. Believe me, you will learn in time. The most important thing to monitor your nutrition rates and make sure you do not dehyrdated.
Not sure about the whole procedure, but one of my friends had last summer and now it looks .... GREAT
