im rotigotine research on drugs used to treat Parkinson's disease, rotigotine and I heard being described as a "non-dopaminergic agonist ergolinic" I do not know what that means any help would be greatly appreciated

This means that this is not a dopamine agonist ergot alkaloids (eg bromocriptine). A dopamine agonist ergot alkaloid is an alkaloid derived from ergot fungus and acts directly on dopamine receptors, stimulating and cause effects similar to those of dopamine in the body. Here is an example of a dopamine agonist ergot alkaloid is bromocriptine (brand name Parlodel) and a dopamine agonist non-ergot, Pramipexole (trade names Mirapexin, Mirapex and Sifrol).
