Cease Smoking

Cease SmokingSpiritualSpeaking: Ex-smokers How did you quit? Was it cold turkey or cut?

Any tips or advice on this?

_ () _

I think it's different for different people. I was not hooked very important, in that I have not smoked a huge amount - perhaps ten roll-ups a day. But I could not handle the cold turkey. I did a year of having a cigarette per day, the last before bedtime, which had always been my favorite. Forgoing the result was easy, especially since I spent time recognizing that I smoke because I thought I look cool when I smoke, and I kept observing all these people who did not look remotely cool (we're not all :-) Lauren Bacall unfortunately / fortunately), that smelled horrible and were such addicts obvious desperation to ensure they have enough to last until that they can get more, refusing to go to things that would mean not smoking for two hours, etc.

And my friends, addicts much bigger than me, it was only cold turkey. We've all been smoke free for 15 years or more now.

cold turkey the first and second. Back cutting never worked! you never quit if its always a challange, and people start back up and leave again and again. You're never ever a non-smoker, but you can do it!

and whoever said there are no withdrawal symptoms is not true. It depends on the person. Of course there are people who do not have any, but I bad .. It is the same as how some people are allergic to things and it is not .. and how some people become alcoholic. I know many people who can go smoke a pack a day, not smoking and back without problems, so I think the person who said they had no withdrawal symptoms, but is not true in all cases! !

throw your smokes, and everything reminds you
chewing gum

My opinion on the matter is that most people who quit successfully do so by going cold Turkey.

I even have a book on it somewhere.

Cold turkey, Why? many reasons .. Hmm so, too expensive, too many problems associated with it, tired of the smell in my clothes, cars, the list is exhaustive

Read a book Alan Carr, it will open your eyes. There are no withdrawal symptoms! It all made by the pharmaceutical industry so they can sell nicotine patches. Plus I've never known any time I stopped. Nada.

I quit cold turkey, because the physical addiction is low. it was not heroin, it was not crack, it was cigarettes. I smoked three packs a day for 8 years and one day said "eh, not so much. I quit." nobody believed me, but I did.
I think one of the reasons why it is so easy for people to stop, start, exit, return and continue this cycle is because it is socially acceptable. if people have been sidelined for smoking, I doubt it would be such a problem. stop.

Cold Turkey! And that's when I really really do not want to smoke more.

Breaking the habit is the hardest part, finding something to do with your hands and I also prayed a lot of sugary snacks to stock up on things like strawberries that are sweet, but the habit of to put on loads of weight

I planned months in advance. I told everyone I knew that the date of XXX (I do not remember the date), I quit. I thought about it much, and when the day comes, I just throw them in the trash and said I no longer smoke.

I smoked about five cigarettes during the years since I left (10 years or so ago). I think it's pretty good, considering I was someone who has smoked for more than 10 years before quitting.

I say, I could always go for - like at a party, I think, ooh, yeah, right now cigarettes would be a good thing or a road trip. The cravings never completely disappear.

Good luck!
