Cease Smoking SpiritualSpeaking: Ex-smokers How did you quit? Was it cold turkey or cut? Any tips or advice on this? I think it's different for different people. I was not hooked very important, in that I have not smoked a huge amount - perhaps ten roll-ups a day. But I could not handle the cold turkey. I did a year of having a cigarette per day, the last before bedtime, which had always been my favorite. Forgoing the result was easy, especially since I spent time recognizing that I smoke because I thought I look cool when I smoke, and I kept observing all these people who did not look remotely cool (we're not all :-) Lauren Bacall unfortunately / fortunately), that smelled horrible and were such addicts obvious desperation to ensure they have enough to last until that they can get more, refusing to go to things that would mean not smoking for two hours, etc. cold turkey the first and second. Back cutting never worked! you never quit if its always a challange, and people start back up and leave again and again. You're never ever a non-smoker, but you can do it! throw your smokes, and everything reminds you My opinion on the matter is that most people who quit successfully do so by going cold Turkey. Cold turkey, Why? many reasons .. Hmm so, too expensive, too many problems associated with it, tired of the smell in my clothes, cars, the list is exhaustive Read a book Alan Carr, it will open your eyes. There are no withdrawal symptoms! It all made by the pharmaceutical industry so they can sell nicotine patches. Plus I've never known any time I stopped. Nada. I quit cold turkey, because the physical addiction is low. it was not heroin, it was not crack, it was cigarettes. I smoked three packs a day for 8 years and one day said "eh, not so much. I quit." nobody believed me, but I did. Cold Turkey! And that's when I really really do not want to smoke more. I planned months in advance. I told everyone I knew that the date of XXX (I do not remember the date), I quit. I thought about it much, and when the day comes, I just throw them in the trash and said I no longer smoke. Co.
