Cancer Test

I write a short story for school a little girl with cancer. I need to know how long it takes for test results to come back for terminal cancer? Thank you.

There is no test "terminal cancer." It was usually a biopsy, which indicates a diagnosis of cancer. From here you receive PET / CT / bone scan depending on the type of cancer to see if there is evidence of metastasis. These results are generally available in a few days. Metastatic cancer is not always "terminal", but it is often curable. With a child, they rarely will shrug and say, "Well, it is ruined."
