Bmi Chart For Men Is the BMI chart is identical for both men and women? I know guys are supposed to weight more .. So I'm 5'5''et I want to weigh 135. My husband is 5'7 "and should weigh what? According to BMI regular thing ( http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/) There must be 150? It seems too light for a guy. What should I weigh the husband, it has a wide chest and super short legs. It is not great either, and it is naturally going to be big because of muscle. He just tries to get the muscle and then bam tonnes it. It works just barely out jogs and light weight lifting from his post and has impressive muscle tone LOL So how much should it weigh? 175-180 not be allowed? This still falls in the overweight .. (we are both obese at the moment but not so bad, we are dieting and exercising every day and already lost about 10 pounds each.) The BMI is flawed. Yes, it is the same for men and women is just ridiculous, it fails to Tae consider muscle mass, or size of the image. For example, I know a bodybuilder who weighs 220 pounds, he has not an ounce of fat on him, but according to BMI, is obese. just use common sense - if you are honest with yourself, you will know whether or not you are really overweight or if you have a high muscle mass (muscle weighs more than fat) and large frame. BMI is really not a very precise way to determine how much you should weigh. BMI does not take into account gender, age, or build muscle mass, only height and weight. I think you should get both a measure of your body fat. Posted on February 19, 2010.
