Bipolar Medication

Bipolar Medicationbipolar medications?

So I have bipolar II and I am currently on ABILIFY 5 mg and 100 mg of Lamictal. I still have some symptoms from time to time, the worst being the spending spree and irritability, I'm still depressed from time to time, but its very sweet. However, I feel I'm much more stupid than I used to be. Should I stop the medication and see how I am? I was hospitalized once, but that was a while ago, I'm sick of feeling stupid

I'm not a big fan of Lamictal, and it is an understatement. In fact, I was on the same dose as you for more than 2 years and I'm rid of it. He gave me all sorts of side effects such as vivid dreams and weakness. Now I get out of it the withdrawal is hell, but I feel more like me and people around me tell me that I seem more like me. I feel less "drugged". Maybe that's what you mean by "dumb".

Many people do not like Lamictal, so you might want to try something different. I am also on lithium and I have not had nearly the problem with him that I had with many other drugs. It also has a good experience to help us type II bipolar patients.

Never stop a medication without first consulting your psychiatrist, though. It can be dangerous, and you want a professional opinion anyway. So if you're afraid to take the medications you are now does not agree with you, describe your concerns with your doctor.

First relax and accept the diagnosis that is the hardest thing to do. Then research on the subject and make sure you are informed about drug side effects, and how they influence each other.

Find a good therapist you feel comfortable.

There is life after bipolar, I'm living proof, living with her for 10 years and I am 27.

I am a university professor working on my PhD if it does not work to keep you, I am also in a stable and loving relationship.

Find ways to forgive and forget everything that you could have done all manic it wasn't you, it was chaos.

Good luck.

Believe it or not, we all feel like that sometimes! You should continue your medication. However, if you think the drug is the cause, talk to your doctor because there are others you can try. Please visit this link: http://www.bipolar.com/treatment_options ...

Yes, keep your medications. Why would you feel dumb? Just because you "feel" airheaded does not mean that you really are! Just keep your meds .. it's for your own benefit.
