What is the difference between a 2 stroke scooter engine and four-time? Is a 150cc scooter good for long trips? Are hybrid scooters worth the money?

Maybe you're just getting started in the world of scooters. Maybe you've been a scooter for some time, but you need to refresh your basic terminology. Anyway, this quick and dirty list of common terms and questions should help you. I'll take my cue from Einstein, and do what I can to "do everything as simple as possible, but not simpler."

What a motor scooter two stroke?

In the past, gasoline scooters used two-stroke engines, because they were cheaper and faster to build. Their power to weight ratio is higher than the four-stroke engines. If you're ready to technique, two-stroke engines use two movements of the piston instead of four to perform basic tasks of the engine (such as intake, compression, power and exhaust). This can make two-stroke engines that peppier types of four-stroke - but the level of emissions is generally higher. Some scooter "classic" fans still swear by them, but now prefer modern scooters 4-stroke engines.

What a motor scooter four-stroke?

Traditionally, four-stroke engines are not used in motorized scooters. However, this began to change in the last decade, manufacturers have begun using the technology most sophisticated four-stroke engines (four movements of the piston to perform the operations of Vital Statistics). By incorporating the four-stroke engines, manufacturers can get better gas consumption and durability with less emissions. Sometimes this comes at the cost of carelessness engine, but today's market favors four-stroke engines.

What does "CC" in reference to scooters?

"CC" is an abbreviation for "cubic centimeters", which essentially describes the size of the engine, where scooters are concerned. Therefore, the greater the extent of CC, the bigger and more powerful the motor. This is useful for determining the type of scooter and use. For example, the speed of the motor scooter 50cc top it off at about 30 mph, and they are not legal for use in the streets. 50cc scooters generally need a state license and can be used for a variety of travel and work away. 250cc motor scooters have become commonplace, and "monster" 600cc models are designed for extended highway travel.

What is a hybrid motor scooter?

As one might guess, a hybrid scooter uses both gasoline and electricity, and compensates for weaknesses of the two sources of fuel. For example, gasoline can provide rapid acceleration that electric scooters are often not - then the default mode battery only in increased fuel efficiency. Hybrids are still being tested and developed, but all indications are they will be even more economical and more fuel efficient than electric or gas models. Buyers can also expect to pay more up front for hybrid scooters.
